NBSC Sets the Stage for ISO 9001:2015 Certification through Strategic QMS Presentation
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) took a major step forward in its pursuit of ISO 9001:2015 certification by holding a strategic meeting for the presentation of NBSC’s Quality Management System (QMS) Manual with the ASC consultant and college officials on August 1, 2025, at the NBSC Board Room, Central Administrative Building.
The session gathered NBSC’s heads and directors onsite, while Document Control Custodians (DCCs) participated virtually via Zoom to ensure the seamless dissemination of updates and agenda across all units.
The meeting was facilitated by the NBSC Quality Assurance Office in coordination with Mr. Kevin T. Castillon, ASC Operations Head and NBSC’s ISO 9001:2015 consultant. Mr. Castillon presented key elements of the institution’s QMS, including the Management Systems Policy (MSP), Systems Structure and Control, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)—critical components in aligning the college’s operations with international standards.
He also outlined the roadmap leading to ISO certification, including possible dates for the following events: IQA Training, Internal Audit, Management Review Meeting, Mock Audit, Stage 1 External Audit, Second Mock Audit, and the Stage 2 External Audit.
These preparations are designed to strengthen NBSC’s internal systems, align processes with global standards, and ensure readiness for the rigorous audit process. This initiative was made possible through the efforts of the Quality Assurance Office under the leadership of Dr. Daniel S. Lerongan, and fully supported by the College President, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE. With this series of activities, NBSC reaffirms its dedication to continuous improvement and international standards, paving the way toward a stronger, more efficient, and globally competitive institution.
