General Description of the Functions of the Office

The GSO was created to oversee and sustain the facilities of Northern Bukidnon State College, offering vital support services that aid in fostering a clean, safe, and sustainable environment for learning and work, while facilitating the efficient functioning of different academic and administrative operations. Its responsibilities encompass Maintenance and repair, Infrastructure Inspection, Housekeeping and Cleanliness, Preventive Maintenance, Solid Waste Management, Support Services, and Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Governance.
In particular, the GSO guarantees prompt inspection and repair of minor job requests, performs routine assessments of all campus infrastructure, and maintains daily cleanliness through organized maintenance evaluations. Furthermore, the GSO is dedicated to the thorough execution of preventive maintenance plans and ensures compliance with the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act. Through these initiatives, the GSO contributes to providing high-quality services that cater to the needs of users while preserving a safe, clean, and sustainable campus atmosphere.

Objectives

The GSO aims to guarantee that all minor job requests are evaluated and resolved within five
(5) working days, with minimal feedback from the end users. The GSO is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the campus on a daily basis and carries out regular inspections (weekly) of facilities, buildings, and campus grounds, covering electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks. The GSO is dedicated to fully implementing preventive maintenance in line with the approved schedule. Furthermore, the GSO is committed to achieving 100% compliance with the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act and following the relevant laws and mandates related to Gender and Development (GAD).

Services

The General Services Office (GSO) implements projects and programs that enhance the College’s operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. These include improvements in janitorial services, building and facility maintenance, transportation and motorpool operations, environmental management, and energy and water conservation.

The GSO oversees renovations, repairs, waste management systems, landscaping, and the maintenance of service vehicles to ensure a clean, safe, and functional campus environment. It also supports institutional activities through facility setup, equipment management, and logistical assistance.

 

In addition, the office provides essential services such as preventive maintenance, job order requests, facility and equipment reservations, vehicle booking, and waste collection—ensuring efficient support for the College’s daily operations and events.
