General Description of the Functions of the Office

The Campus Safety and Management Office (CSMO) plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and overall orderliness of the campus environment. It is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures that protect the lives and well-being of students, employees, visitors, and campus assets.

Objectives

Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) is committed to providing a safe, secure, and orderly environment for students, employees, visitors, and stakeholders. The College implements proactive security measures to protect people, facilities, and resources from potential threats, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.

Through effective access control, trained security personnel, disaster preparedness programs, regular safety drills, and coordination with local authorities, NBSC promotes the welfare of its community and supports its mission of quality education and service.

Services

1. Security Management – Oversees and enforces security protocols, including monitoring access points, patrolling facilities, and managing closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to prevent and respond to unauthorized activities or threats.
2. Safety Compliance – Ensures compliance with national and institutional safety standards by conducting risk assessments, safety drills, and emergency preparedness programs.
3. Crisis and Emergency Response – Coordinates immediate and effective response to emergencies such as fire, natural disasters, accidents, and other incidents through the activation of the Disaster Action and Response Team (DART) and other support units.
4. Incident Reporting and Investigation – Handles documentation, investigation, and resolution of reported incidents related to safety, security, and property damage within the campus premises.
5. Traffic and Parking Management – Regulates the flow of vehicles and enforces parking policies within the campus to maintain order and prioritize pedestrian safety.
6. Campus Access Control – Manages the issuance of ID cards, gate passes, and permits for students, employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure controlled and secure campus access.
7. Coordination with Law Enforcement and Agencies – Works in partnership with local police, fire departments, and emergency responders to strengthen campus security protocols and responses.
8. Awareness and Capacity Building – Conducts safety orientations, training, and information campaigns for the campus community to build awareness and preparedness.
