General Description of the Functions of the Office

The Gender and Development Office upholds the principles of equality, inclusivity, and
empowerment as its mission of transforming lives and communities through education. Aligned
with the Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710) , the Gender and Development Office
(GADO) embraces developmental approaches and processes that is participatory, empowering,
equitable, sustainable, and inclusive that is anchored with human rights law and the NBSC mission,
vision , goal and objectives.

Objectives

The Gender and Development Office’s main goal is to integrate gender sensitivity, inclusivity
and equality principles into instruction, student services, research, and extension. To achieve this, the Gender and Development Office develops and implements plans, programs, and activities (PPAs) that promote gender responsive perspective. It is also committed to create opportunities for scholarships, leadership, engagement especially for indigenous men and women, youth, and disadvantaged sectors within and beyond Manolo Fortich. It also fosters a gender-responsive society through sustainable partnerships and cooperation with both internal stakeholders and external networks and advocates.
