History of the Information and Communication Technology Management Office (ICTMO)

The Information Management Office (IMO) of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) is established in response to the growing need for efficient and secure information management within the institution. As NBSC expanded its academic programs and administrative operations, the demand for a dedicated office to oversee information systems development, deployment, and maintenance became evident.

The IMO was officially formed in 2021, under the directive of the NBSC administration, to integrate modern technology into the institution’s core operations. Initially staffed by a small team of IT professionals, the office was tasked with essential IT support, including hardware and software management, data processing, and network maintenance.

As the college grew and embraced the digital age, the IMO’s role evolved significantly. It became a central player in streamlining administrative processes, improving data security, and fostering innovation in delivering educational services. Key milestones in the office’s history include:

  • 2021: Deployment of advanced campus-wide information systems to enhance administrative efficiency and data integration.
  • 2021: Development of NBSC’s online presence through the official website and social media platforms.
  • 2021: Integration of communication tools and platforms to support blended and online learning modalities.
  • 2021: Establishment of cybersecurity protocols to safeguard the college’s digital assets and data privacy.

Today, the IMO is a vital component of NBSC’s infrastructure, ensuring that the institution remains at the forefront of technological advancement. Its mission is to provide innovative solutions, foster a culture of digital literacy, and support the college’s vision of delivering quality education and services to students, faculty, and stakeholders.

Recognizing the increasing importance of communication technologies and digital innovation in education, the NBSC administration took a strategic step to expand the role of the office. In 2025 the IMO was officially restructured and renamed the Information and Communication Technology Management Office (ICTMO).

With a commitment to excellence and adaptability, the IMO become a ICTMO continues to evolve, meeting the challenges of the digital era and contributing to the success of Northern Bukidnon State College.
