The event, themed “#LahatKasama: Strengthening Financial Inclusion through Education,” brought together key figures from educational institutions, financial services, and government sectors to discuss the crucial role of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in advancing financial inclusion across the Philippines.
NBSC was represented by its academic heads, including Dr. Christine C. Royo, Head of the Institute of Teacher Education (ITE), Ms. Shiela Mae M. Orozco, Head of the Institute of Computer Studies (ICS), Ms. Cassandra A. Ragandang-Tubongbanua, Head of the Institute of Business Management (IBS), Ms. Niemfa Love W. The summit emphasized how financial literacy is essential to economic empowerment and how SUCs can integrate financial education into their academic programs to reach a broader audience. Discussions focused on the role of educational institutions in promoting access to financial services, creating partnerships with financial institutions, and fostering community-based initiatives that enhance financial awareness among students, faculty, and local communities.
NBSC’s participation in the summit aligns with the college’s mission to provide quality education that empowers individuals and communities. The insights gained from the event will directly inform the development of programs that foster financial literacy and inclusion, supporting the college’s vision of producing socially responsible graduates who contribute to national development.
