NBSC Alumni Affairs Association successfully holds Paglugway 2023, A Fundraising Event
Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – The Alumni Affairs Association intends to strengthen its ties with NBSC by creating initiatives to help the college achieve sustainable programs that meet the needs of the students and the community. To realize the college’s mission and vision, the Alumni Affairs Association initiated fundraising activity entitled “Paglugway 2023: Dagan ug Gugma Para sa Kinaiyahan” on July 1, 2023.
The said activity highlighted,”Paglugway” which means the vitality of creating linkages with NBSC Alumni, officials, students, and other organizations by merging goals in harnessing academic culture and meet the pressing needs of the institution and community thereby making NBSC a college of choice. This year’s Paglugway advocates health and wellness and love for environment through fun run, Zumba , and tree planting activities within Barangay Tankulan for the Provision of Eco-Tourism Intercultural Botanical Park.
The valorous leaders of the Province of Bukidnon Former 1st District Representatives, Ma. Lourdes Acosta-Alba and Juan Romeo Nereus O. Acosta graced the event through their words of appreciation and inspiration to the college to create a legacy of hope and become prime movers in the community and environment.
A total of 261 strong advocates, including NBSC directors, teachers, students, and stakeholders, supported the great cause. The said activities were spearheaded by the Alumni Affairs Association under the supervision of Maria Theresa B. Markines-Cabudoy, Director of Alumni Affairs Association and Teaching and Learning Center, alongside Malou S. Armilla, President of the Alumni Affairs Association.
Moreover, this activity was conducted in partnership with NBSC, particularly with CSG, NSTP, Safety and Security, PE, Health, IMO, and Communications and External Relations. Furthermore, LGU Manolo Fortich, MHO, DENR, MENRO, RTA, Barangay Tankulan, and PNP Manolo Fortich also worked hand in hand to ensure the success of the event.
The festivity of the event was further enhanced by the creative artistry of Elfie Mae C. Opalla, a Batch 2014 alumna, who provided free face painting services.
The success of this event was made possible through the generosity of various industries, who contributed in-kind donations. These included REBISCO, Del Monte Philippines Inc., Golden Trumpet, Prince Hypermart, Alomah’s Place, and local bakeshops including Julie’s, Loulen’s, Madelicious, and Arbees.
The program concluded with words of gratitude from Dr. Ermelina C. Bardilas, the College Librarian III, who expressed appreciation to all the hardworking committees that demonstrated Magis, all for the love of NBSC.
