NBSC Advances in the Pursuit of Quality Assessment and Evaluation
Northern Bukidnon State College successfully completed the Teacher Agency: Training of Trainers in Assessment Literacy: Monitoring and Pre-Summit Cycle 2, held on September 26, 2023, at the NBSC Board Room. This transformative event was made possible through the invaluable contributions of Dr. Angelo Mark P. Walag from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), who served as the resource person for the program.
During this session, a total of 14 Design Thinking Projects were presented and discussed, providing educators with invaluable insights into the intricate domain of assessment literacy. Dr. Walag offered valuable feedback and constructive suggestions, steering the direction of the research project toward improvement. He also underscored the significance of clarity in setting objectives, outlining a plan of action, and engaging in self-reflection as essential elements for enhancing one’s skills and making valuable contributions to the academic community.
The Teacher Agency: Training of Trainers in Assessment Literacy is an innovative program of the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs. It aims to create a culture of quality assessment and evaluation within the educational community, fostering excellence in teaching and learning. Hence, Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden, the College President, and Dr. Helen E. Maasin, Vice President for Administration and Finance, have consistently offered unwavering support for its objectives, reinforcing NBSC’s dedication to educational excellence as the program enters its second cycle.
Furthermore, NBSC remains steadfast in its dedication to advancing education and equipping educators with the tools they need to thrive in their roles. The Teacher Agency: Training of Trainers in Assessment Literacy program will continue to evolve and expand, ensuring that educators are well-prepared to foster a culture of excellence in assessment and evaluation.
