NBSC Delegates Participate in Assessment Institute 2023 at Indiana, United States
[Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America, October 27-31, 2023] – The Northern Bukidnon State College’s (NBSC) Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, and the Quality Assurance and Planning and Development Director, Dr. Daniel S. Lerongan had a significant participation at the Assessment Institute 2023 hosted by IUPUI- Indiana University, an event dedicated to fostering excellence in education and assessment last October 27-31, 2023 at the Indianapolis Marriot Hotel, Indiana, USA.
The Assessment Institute hosted by the Center for Leading Improvements in Higher Education at IUPUI is the nation’s oldest and largest event focused on assessing and improving higher education. It is an annual event that brings together educators, researchers, and industry leaders from around the world to share best practices, innovations, and insights in the field of educational assessment. It serves as a platform for attendees to exchange ideas, collaborate, and explore the latest trends in education assessment and improvement.
NBSC through Dr. Delosa and Dr. Lerongan saw the Assessment Institute as an opportunity to further strengthen its commitment to excellence in education. The delegation of NBSC representatives actively engaged in discussions, workshops, and presentations, with a specific focus on education assessment.
Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa presented a 20-minute session on the topic, The Role of Performance-Based Assessment in the New Normal Classroom, and a Poster Presentation on the topic, Creating a Culture for the Advancement of Transformative Teaching and Learning through the Faculty Development Program.
Dr. Daniel S. Lerongan presented a 20-minute session on the topic, Flexible Learning: The Context of a New State College in Northern Mindanao, and a Poster Presentation on the topic, Enhancing Students Outcomes Through the 2F3C Model. Other authors who contributed to the 20-minute session topic were Dr. Maria Theresa Markines-Cabudoy, Maria Socorro T. Bonita, and Rowena E. Bagongon.
The NBSC delegation aims to explore innovative assessment methodologies, align curriculum with industry demands, and promote effective teaching strategies. Additionally, they have presented their research, experiences, and best practices in education assessment, sharing valuable insights with a global audience.
