NBSC forges International Ties with Canadore College
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) marks its promising step towards international collaboration through welcoming Dr. Laura Solano Moya, Canadore College’s International Director for Recruitment and Business Development on February 19, 2024.
College President Dr. Catherine Almaden highlighted NBSC’s commitment to strengthening international ties, particularly in student exchange and research collaborations. She envisioned partnerships opening doors for faculty and students, fostering knowledge exchange and cultural understanding.
The visit explored potential partnerships through the SEEDS (Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development) program and joint research projects. Dr. Moya expressed her enthusiasm for bringing Filipino students to Canada and exploring further collaboration opportunities.
NBSC students warmly welcomed the visitors with traditional dances and music, showcasing Bukidnon’s vibrant culture. Dr. Moya, touched by the hospitality, shared her connection to the Philippines, finding similarities to her Costa Rican roots. She encouraged students to pursue the SEEDS scholarship, emphasizing her commitment to fostering deeper ties. “It’s our deepest intention to bring some of you into Canada. The reason why I am here today is not only to make that happen but also to look for other opportunities of collaboration.”
