Ballpoint is the official student publication of NBSC.  It was created in consonance with Republic Act 7079 (Campus Journalism Act of 1991), an act providing for the development and promotion of campus journalism.  It shall serve as a means for strengthening the ethical values, developing the creative and critical thinking, and developing the moral character of student writers. The publication is composed of student editors and student writers. The students are the publication’s publishers.  It is also the only tertiary student organization granted the choice of including an adviser or not. The publication adviser shall be selected by the school administration from a list of instructors recommended by the publication staff.

To join the publication, a student needs to take note of the following:

  • The editorial board sets a date for qualifying exams.  All interested parties should take the said written exams.

  • It is also the task of the Editorial Board to sift through the applicants.  After which, they shall announce the names of those who qualified.

  • The new staff will be assigned to a particular section, i.e. News, Features, Sports, Art, and others.
