One of the goals of NBSC is to provide excellence in education through quality assurance and accreditation. NBSC focuses on dynamic, up-to-date, and innovative curricula and life-long learning courses and programs responsive to the 21st century work landscape and needs of different types of workers. Best adaptive and flexible teaching and learning practices and program designs have been demonstrated. Excellence in teaching and learning emphasizes student-centered and value-added services, processes, decisions, policies, and culture. NBSC also considers holistic development through learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, local and international, for students, faculty, and staff.

It also promotes experiential learning through a variety of opportunities to engage in structured activities that are intentionally designed to enhance civic responsibility while addressing community and institutional needs. The multi-faceted educational initiatives linking technology, expertise, and resources of multi-stakeholder institutions to the issues and concerns of communities and society in general are considered. It also promotes the development of capacity building in communities and institutions towards self-reliance and empowerment of human development within the context of poverty and underserved sectors.
