The creation of income-generating program office (IGPO) is NBSC’s immediate response to the urgent call of the government to supplement the institution’s resources and fill in the budget gap for expenses that the college may incur. IGP’s direction is anchored on The Higher Education Modernization Act of 1998 otherwise known as R.A. 8292 encourages state colleges and universities to venture into income-generating projects to augment limited fund allocation from the national government to support their mandated functions on instruction, research, extension, and production.
PROGRAM OFFICE HEAD
Thus, as reflected in the institution’s strategic goals, IGP will help in achieving objectives 1, 3, 4 and 5 of NBSC’s Goal 5 on 21st Century Infrastructure and Operational Sustainability:
Objective 1: Optimum use of resources (land, financial and physical capital) to sustain fiscal health and improve the institution.
Objective 3: Array of comprehensive value-added products and services to diversify revenue streams.
Objective 4: Long-term financial stability
Objective 5: Strategic alliances and partnerships with local, national, and global collaborators.
The Income Generation Program Office Logo is represented by a pair of blue hands, four leaves and an over-arching shadow.
The pair of two hands represent the two clusters that make up Northern Bukidnon State College: the Academic cluster and the Administrative cluster. The academic cluster is responsible for the curricula, programs, faculty, and other curricular undertakings while the administrative cluster looks into the operation of the institution involving human resources, finances and among others. Both the academic and administrative council support the development of the functions of Northern Bukidnon State College as a higher education institution. The four leaves represent the four functions of State Universities and Colleges: instruction, research, extension, and production which significantly contribute to the generation of income of the institution. Higher Education Institutions are mandated not only to teach (instruction) but also to produce knowledge (research and production) and to share knowledge to the institution’s community and other stakeholders (extension). The income generation program is supported by these three in varied programs and projects and vice versa. The over-arching shadow represents the aim of IGP to generate additional revenues to finance projects for instruction, research, extension, and production.
