NBSC Ballpoint Editorial Board gears forward for the school year, completes Journalism Workshop
The Editorial Board of the Ballpoint Publication, the official student publication of the Northern Bukidnon State College, participated in a Journalism Workshop held at the Conference Room, Student Welfare and Development Center on September 25, 2024.
Various in-house speakers discussed a series of topics with the Ballpoint board members. Ms. Mary Elizabeth M. Traya, the Communications and External Relations Office (CERO) Administrative Assistant relayed the essentials of News Writing and Headline Writing to the group, followed by Ms. Helen B. Ajon, MA, who delivered photojournalism. The participants also delved deeper into feature writing with Dr. Maria Theresa B. Marines-Cabudoy, CERO Director, and NBSC Branding by Mr. Michael Conrad M. Casicas, CERO Administrative Officer. Thus ensuring that the students have the necessary skills to be student journalists.
The Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. Helen E. Maasin, and SAS Coordinator, Ms. Rowena E. Bagongon, PhD-CAR, highly supported this event, inspiring the students with their messages. Dr. Maasin emphasized the importance of the principles of truth and transparency in the work they are about to do for the students as student ambassadors and frontliners.
The program also served as the turnover ceremony of the previous editorial board to the new set of campus journalists. Ms. Mary Joy S. Anggana, the former Ballpoint Editor-in-Chief, shared her experiences and words of encouragement with the latest editorial board. Pouring guidelines and instructions to give ideas to the new editorial board.
Through this activity, NBSC ensures the holistic development of its students by providing support to the student body and its activities.
