NBSC conducts consultative meeting and orientation with CHED IAS

Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) conducted a Consultative Meeting and Orientation with the Commission on Higher Education International Affairs Staff (CHED IAS) through its Director, Atty. Lily Freida Macabangun-Milla, together with her Project Technical Staff, Ms. Aimee Mae Czarina Ragsac, Ms. Armie Bunag, and Mr. Eldrin Delgado. The International Networking Office, headed by Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, facilitated the meeting on February 10, 2023, at the Dahilayan Conference Room, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The meeting aimed to capture the opportunities presented by globalization while contributing to local and national development and establishing relations with international institutions.

Moreover, the College President, Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden, warmly welcomed the guests and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity given by CHED IAS to discuss comprehensively the possible internationalization of NBSC faculty and students. The Executive Director of UniFAST, Atty. Ryan Estevez, the CHED Regional Office 10 Education Supervisor, Ms. Rose Mae Lumasag, the International Relations Director of Bukidnon State University, Dr. Laurelee Cabacungan, and the NBSC academic unit heads were also present to attend the consultative meeting.

The International Affairs Staff is a high-level technical secretariat of the CHED that assists in the implementation of education matters involving other countries and international education organizations. Through the Building Internationalization Competitiveness of the Philippine Higher Program, the International Affairs Staff endeavors to uphold international commitments and support higher education institutions (HEIs) in promoting internationalization engagement, learning, discovery, and meaningful collaborations, thereby developing a globally competitive human resource and building a knowledge-based society. All of these are intended to strengthen the ASEAN identity and community and mold the next generation of global citizens.
