NBSC receives the Mental Health First Responder School of the Year award during the RESET Awards 2023
Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) was one of the twenty-three (23) Mental Health First Responder Schools of the Year during the RESET Awards 2023 held on February 16, 2023, at Baguio Country Club, Baguio City. The recognition was presented to the College President, Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden. The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, and the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Helen E. Maasin, were present during the event to represent NBSC.
Other awardees of the First Responder Schools of the Year award included the University of Santo Tomas, Apayao State College, Arellano Universities, Inc., La Consolacion University Philippines, Our Lady of Fatima University, Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College, Philippine Science High School, Cagayan Valley Campus, San Juan De Dios Educational Foundation, Inc., San Mateo Municipal College, St. Paul College of Parañaque, St. Paul University – Quezon City, Tanauan Institute, Inc., and the Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus.
RESET stands for Responsive Evaluation of School’s Emotional Fitness Targets. It is a program that provides sustainable mental health training for students and teachers. From screening and assessment measures, RESET has the tools teams need to improve school mental health programming and sustainability in schools. The program advocates that a strong school is mentally resilient, flexible, and agile environment.
In order to provide a better and more positive learning environment for instructors and students, NBSC is eager to enhance its school mental health programs and ensure its sustainability.
