NBSC-ITE STRENGTHENS RESEARCH PROPOSAL WRITING THROUGH MINI-WEBINAR ON GAD INTEGRATION AND RESEARCH ETHICS
Northern Bukidnon State College’s Institute for Teacher Education (ITE), in collaboration with the Gender and Development Office (GADO) and the Research Ethics Office (REO), successfully conducted an online mini-webinar titled, “GAD Integration and Research Ethics in Action Research” on February 24, 2026.
The activity provided a platform for pre-service Mathematics researchers to deepen their understanding of how Gender and Development (GAD) principles and ethical research practices are integrated into research proposal writing. It formed part of the Research in Mathematics A (RES 1) course requirement, designed to help students produce research proposals that are both relevant and compliant with NBSC’s institutional policies and national research standards.
Zandra Shellee Y. Ordinan, Head of the GADO, shared valuable insights on context-sensitive GAD integration, equipping participants with practical approaches to ensure equity, inclusivity, and responsiveness in research design. Ramer N. Verdejo, REO Coordinator of ITE, guided students through the ethical considerations and application processes required by the Research Ethics Committee, including informed consent, confidentiality, risk management, and proper documentation.
Interactive open forums followed both sessions, allowing participants to clarify key concepts and strengthen their readiness to integrate GAD and ethical practices into their own research proposals. A synthesis segment highlighted major takeaways, including the importance of ethical compliance and gender responsiveness in research.
The collaborative webinar underscored NBSC’s commitment to nurturing competent, reflective, and ethically responsible researchers as part of its broader mission to advance inclusive and high-quality education. This initiative reflects the College’s continuous efforts to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in meaningful scholarly inquiry.
