NBSC-QAO PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR ON UNIVERSITY RANKING TECHNIQUES
Advancing its commitment to global quality assurance and academic excellence, Northern Bukidnon State College’s Quality Assurance Office (NBSC-QAO) participated in an international webinar on AUAP Quality Assurance Standards on March 17, 2026. Organized by the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), in cooperation with Panpacific University of the Philippines and the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education of India, the webinar centered on the theme, “International Ranking Techniques for Professors, Students and University Administrators.”
The webinar aimed to equip university professors, students, and administrators with a practical understanding of major international university ranking systems and their evaluation criteria. Participants gained strategic insights and applicable techniques to analyze ranking indicators and effectively leverage them to enhance academic performance, institutional visibility, and global impact.
Key topics included an overview of major international ranking systems, namely the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, the Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings, and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
The event featured distinguished speakers:
• Prof. Anoop Swarup, Secretary-General of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP);
• Dr. Vinay Joshi Chandniwala, Dean of Academics at ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Deemed-to-be University, Bengaluru, India; and
• Mr. Abdolmajid Eskandari, Research Fellow and former Director General for the Office of International Relations, University of Tehran, Iran.
The QAO’s participation in this international forum reflects NBSC’s unwavering commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and continuous improvement in line with global standards. The knowledge and best practices gained from this webinar will serve as a valuable resource in the College’s ongoing efforts to enhance its academic programs, research output, and overall institutional performance.
Moving forward, insights gained from initiatives of this nature will continue to inform and strengthen NBSC’s undertakings in instruction, research, and extension.
