General Description of the Functions of the Office

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) provides academic leadership and oversees the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the College’s academic programs and services. It ensures quality and responsive instruction while promoting research, innovation, extension, student development, faculty development, curriculum enhancement, and continuous academic improvement. The Office coordinates the academic institutes and divisions under its jurisdiction and works with stakeholders to advance academic excellence, quality assurance, and the strategic goals of Northern Bukidnon State College.

Ensure Academic Excellence
Maintain and continuously improve the quality, relevance, and responsiveness of the College’s academic programs and services.
Strengthen Teaching and Learning
Promote effective, innovative, and outcomes-based teaching and learning practices across academic units.
Enhance Curriculum and Programs
Facilitate the development, review, enhancement, and alignment of curricula with industry needs, national standards, and institutional goals.
Promote Faculty Development
Support continuous professional development, capacity building, and career advancement of faculty members.
Advance Research and Innovation
Encourage research, innovation, knowledge creation, and the integration of research outputs into teaching and community development.
Strengthen Student Development
Support programs and services that promote student success, holistic development, engagement, and academic achievement.
Expand Community Engagement
Strengthen extension programs and partnerships that contribute to community development and address societal needs.
Promote Quality Assurance
Implement continuous monitoring, evaluation, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives to sustain academic standards.
Support Institutional Goals
Ensure that academic plans, programs, and activities are aligned with the vision, mission, goals, and strategic directions of Northern Bukidnon State College.
