ICS Faculty Represent NBSC at 2025 DOST Zonal Conference
March 14, 2025 – Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) was represented at the 2025 DOST Zonal Conference held at MSU-IIT by Marchilyn A. Abunda, the ICS Research Coordinator, and Ms. Phoebe Ruth Alithea B. Sudaria, the ICS Research Ethics Coordinator.
The conference featured DOST’s initiative “PROPEL: Accelerating Innovations in the Philippines,” which seeks to transform innovative ideas into successful enterprises. Abunda and Sudaria discussed the role of higher education institutions in driving technological advancement.
Keynote speaker Mr. Glenn Quiro highlighted the urgent need for the Philippines to invest in the semiconductor industry, which resonated with NBSC representatives as they recognized the importance of developing technical skills among students. Additionally, Dr. John Anthony Jose’s presentation on “AI Beyond ChatGPT” showcased practical applications of artificial intelligence, further inspiring ideas for incorporating such technologies into NBSC’s programs.
The insights and networks gained from this conference will help NBSC enhance its contributions to science and technology education in the Philippines. The participation emphasized NBSC’s commitment to advancing research and innovation across Mindanao.
