NBSC CONDUCTS TRAINING OF TRAINERS ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE INTEGRATION
Northern Bukidnon State College, through the Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID), successfully conducted the Training of Trainers (TOT) on Artificial Intelligence Integration on August 3, 2026, at the Student Welfare and Development Center (SWDC). The session brought together faculty members and academic personnel for a day of learning, collaboration, and capacity building on the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education.
The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of faculty members in utilizing AI to enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and academic productivity while promoting ethical practices in the classroom.
The program featured Dr. Amelia T. Buan, Dean of the College of Education at Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), as the resource speaker. Dr. Buan delivered discussions on the fundamentals of AI, emerging AI technologies, responsible AI use, prompt engineering, and practical applications in instruction, research, assessment, and curriculum development. She also facilitated workshops that provided participants with opportunities to develop AI-assisted instructional materials, design AI-enhanced learning activities, craft effective prompts, and explore discipline-specific applications in teaching and learning.
A significant component of the training was the series of hands-on workshops, where participants applied the concepts discussed by developing instructional materials, designing learning activities, crafting effective prompts, and creating classroom applications suited to their respective disciplines. The workshops encouraged collaboration, creativity, and the exchange of best practices among faculty members.
Participants expressed appreciation for the relevance of the training, recognizing AI as an increasingly valuable tool in modern education. They highlighted the importance of continuously developing digital competencies to prepare learners for the demands of a rapidly evolving educational landscape while ensuring that technology supports, rather than replaces, sound pedagogy.
The training also provided faculty members with an avenue to share experiences, identify opportunities and challenges in AI integration, and discuss practical approaches for promoting responsible, ethical, and learner-centered applications across academic programs.
The insights and outputs gained from the training are expected to support NBSC’s continuing efforts to refine its academic practices and respond to the evolving demands of higher education. The initiative also reflects the College’s commitment to pursuing relevant approaches that contribute to sustained institutional growth and improvement.
