Manolo Fortich Bukidnon – The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) hosted a program on November 23, 2022, at the NBSC Covered Court, as recognition for the 27 student athletes who represented the college during the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools, Inc. (MASTS) Friendship Games 2022 at Mati City, Davao Oriental last November 6 – 12, 2022.

The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, was present to give the welcome address and the words of inspiration. The Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. Helen E. She also commended the efforts of the delegates as well as the coaches, who, despite having limited resources and preparation time, were able to give impressive performances in the various competitions.

The NBSC student athletes competed in sports and socio-cultural competitions. The men’s volleyball team made it to the quarterfinals. The track and field men’s and women’s teams had outstanding performances during the event. Joshua Gabriel Zulita, track and field contender, ranked 9th for the long jump and 8th for the triple jump and qualified for the national competition. Badminton (Men) athletes also gave an excellent match during the games. In the socio-cultural competition, Jun Arthur Binayao ranked 4th in the Pagsulat ng Sanaysay.

The recognition program included post-evaluation and debriefing sessions led by NBSC instructors, Mr. Franco Ceasar M. Agablog, Ms. Genevive Marie E. Bolanio, and Mr. Reynan S. Salo. These aimed to enable the student athletes to connect the activities and lessons they had learned during their experience in the MASTS Friendship Games. During the program, the NBSC coaches—who worked tirelessly to develop and mentor the student athletes—were also recognized.
