NBSC holds Transformational Leaders Academy (TLA) Cycle 1 Synthesis and Processing
On the warm but cozy Tuesday, May 9, 2023, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs of NBSC held its Transformational Leaders Academy (TLA) Cycle 1 Synthesis and Processing. Facilitated by Dr. Nelly Z. Limbadan, RPsy from the Ateneo de Davao University, the NBSC leaders went through the three-step process of synthesizing and processing their leadership experience during Cycle 1.
The fun yet deep sessions were also participated by the college executive heads, Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden, the College President, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Helen E. Maasin, the Vice President for Administration and Finance.
Everyone was given the opportunity to share a part of their leadership experience by looking back on their significant leadership experience, looking in on what is going on inside, and looking forward to the future that is being envisioned and the commitment that is aligned to the NBSC mantra: Creating futures, Transforming Lives, Guided by God.
TLA is indeed a doctrina perpetua or lifelong learning. Dr. Limbadan shared her thoughts on leadership including TLA as a whole-person education. She also introduced the three pedagogies of fullness: Study, Solidarity, and Grace. And to ensure forever learning, the leader must never stop learning what is being said and not being said, to experience, and to ask the questions of what and why.
Gratitude to the OVPAA headed by Dr. Delosa for the successful, meaningful, and fruitful activity, to Dr. Maasin who ensured that this activity will push through after a series of rescheduling, and to Dr. Almaden who deeply supported this program. The TLA Synthesis and Processing activity became successful because of the “murmuration1” of the different offices.
Onward to TLA Cycle 2.
1 – the patterns created by hundreds or sometimes thousands of starlings from different flocks flying together witth synchronicity and coordination. – Introduced by Dr. Almaden, the College President of NBSC, to deepen the leaders’ understanding of working together towards a common goal.
