NBSC Research Director Shares Research Findings at Regional Technical Working Group Meeting on CPD X Adolescent Health and Development
Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, Director of the Research, Development, and Innovation Division (RDID) of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), actively participated in the Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting on Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) organized by the Commission on Population and Development Region X (CPD Region X).
The meeting took place on July 23, 2025, at 9:00 AM in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. This inter-agency gathering focused on strengthening partnerships and exploring comprehensive strategies to address the alarming incidence of adolescent pregnancy in Region X.
Dr. Witting-Acuesa’s presence was especially significant as she presented key findings from the institutional research titled “Factors Influencing Incidence of Teenage Pregnancy in Northern Mindanao.” The study, spearheaded by Dr. Witting-Acuesa and her research team at NBSC, offered timely and evidence-based insights into the underlying causes of adolescent pregnancy in the region, providing valuable data that informed the group’s policy discussions and program planning.
Her participation underscores NBSC’s ongoing commitment to socially relevant research and regional development, reinforcing the institution’s role as a key academic partner in addressing pressing health and social challenges.
