NBSC EXPLORES ENHANCED ADMISSION AND SUPPORT PRACTICES THROUGH BENCHMARKING VISIT AT USEP
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) undertook a benchmarking visit to the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) on November 20, 2025, held at the College of Engineering 2/F Conference Room, USeP Obrero Campus in Davao City. The activity focused on gaining a deeper understanding of admission procedures and student support services, with particular attention to scholarships and guidance and counseling functions.
The visit aimed to closely examine how admission processes and student services can be structured for consistency, fairness, and transparency. Through interactions with the concerned offices—the Office of the University Registrar (OUR), Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), and the University Assessment and Guidance Center (UAGC)—the NBSC team observed how standardized procedures and efficient communication channels support institutional effectiveness. The experience highlighted the value of clear systems, stakeholder engagement, and the continuous pursuit of improvement. It also offered practical models that NBSC may consider adapting to strengthen its own internal operations.
The NBSC delegation was composed of Mr. Franco Ceasar M. Agbalog, MA, RPSY, Head of Appraisal, Testing and Admission Office / Student Accounts, Scholarship Aides and Financial Assistance Office (ATAO/SASAFAO); staff members Ms. Florelyn Casukot, Mr. Norodin Panundi, Mr. Andre Vince Regañon, and Mr. Earl John Luchin; and Mr. Jo Augustine G. Corpuz, MAGC, RPM, Head of the Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO). Their involvement allowed for a comprehensive appreciation of the practices applied across the different service units of the host institution.
Following the visit, NBSC plans to integrate selected insights into its existing workflows by refining evaluation criteria, improving communication lines, and adopting monitoring tools to guide continuous progress. As these adjustments take shape, the institution strengthens its capacity to respond to evolving needs—quietly reinforcing a direction that supports steady and meaningful growth.
