NBSC HOSTS GCED WORKSHOP AT BAMBOO PAVILION, STRENGTHENING WHOLE SCHOOL APPROACH IN EDUCATION
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) successfully hosted a Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Workshop, convening educators from basic and higher education, school leaders, and academic stakeholders to strengthen the integration of GCED through the Whole School Approach. The initiative supports the institutionalization of GCED in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.7. The activity was held on April 28–30, 2026, at the Bamboo Pavilion in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The organizers extend their sincere gratitude to Hon. Congressman Jose Manuel “Joeman” F. Alba and Hon. Malou Acosta-Alba, former Congresswoman, for generously allowing the use of the Bamboo Pavilion. The venue significantly enhanced the learning experience, providing both comfort and an inspiring environment for all participants.
The workshop was led by the Philippine Normal University (PNU) – GCED Cooperation Center Philippines (GCC Philippines), in coordination with Bukidnon State University and Northern Bukidnon State College. The program opened with messages from key partners, including Rowena R. Hibanada, Director, and Iona Ofelia Zanoria, Project Leader of the GCED Learning Hub and Caravan, representing GCC Philippines. They emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing inclusive and transformative education.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions focusing on the foundational principles of the Whole School Approach, strategies for integrating GCED, and methods for assessing implementation. Through reflective practice and collaboration, educators contextualized GCED principles within their respective institutions.
