COLOR OF PRIDE, CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE: NBSC CULMINATES PRIDE MONTH CELEBRATION
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) culminated its Pride Month celebration on June 29, 2026, at the NBSC Covered Court. Anchored on the theme, “Color of Pride, Culture of Excellence,” the event brought together faculty, staff, and students in promoting inclusivity, diversity, and respect within the institution.
The program opened with a welcome message from Niemfa Love W. Manginsay, MAGC, Head of the Department of General Education Curricula (DGEC) and President of the SIDLAK Women’s Club, who described celebrating Pride as being authentic, creative, and cooperative.
Delivering the inspirational message, College President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D, CESE, expressed her full support for the LGBTQIA+ community, describing how their courage, resilience, creativity, and authenticity enriched NBSC. She also shared how friends from the LGBTQIA+ community encouraged and uplifted her during her previous tenure at another institution. She emphasized that “As one NBSC community, excellence is not only measured by achievements; true excellence is also seen the way we treat others…A culture of excellence is a culture where everyone feels safe to grow, free to contribute, and empowered to become their best.” She encouraged everyone to let the celebration of Pride Month inspire the entire NBSC community to continue building an institution where diversity is embraced, inclusion is practiced, and respect is lived every day.
The celebration concluded with closing remarks from Zandra Shellee Y. Ordinan, MA, Head of the Gender and Development Office (GADO), who reminded everyone to continue promoting inclusivity, challenging discrimination, and standing as allies for one another: not only during the Pride Month, but throughout the entire year.
Through initiatives such as this, NBSC reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic community where every individual is valued, respected, and recognized as a vital contributor to its success.
