Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) had five students serve as speakers at the 5th International Youth Conference on Language and Culture (IYCLAC) 2026, themed “The Language of Connection: Advancing Intercultural Dialogue and Global Youth Collaboration,” held virtually via Zoom on October 23, 2026. The conference was organized by Universitas Esa Unggul, Indonesia, in collaboration with NBSC’s International Affairs and External Linkages Office (IAELO), headed by Blessel Jane M. Quiño, and Student Affairs, Services, and Development Division (SASDD), led by its director, Rowena E. Bagongon.
The student speakers were Justine Franco D. Aparilla, John Klient C. Cabugnason, Katrina Zyza Ducala, Angela April C. Dacayo, and Hannah Jean Gano-ay. Other NBSC students also attended the conference, which provided a venue for academic discussions on language and culture among participants from diverse backgrounds.
Participation in international forums allows students to share their ideas beyond their home institutions and gain exposure to perspectives shaped by different educational and cultural contexts. The virtual format also enabled NBSC students to participate in an international academic event without the need for overseas travel.
For NBSC, such engagements broaden students’ academic experiences and help prepare them to communicate and collaborate in international settings. They also strengthen the college’s links with institutions abroad, opening possibilities for future academic partnerships and exchange opportunities.
