Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – The Northern Bukidnon State College conducted a School-Based Community Service Orientation for the students enrolled in the National Service Training Program (NSTP) in the second semester of AY 2022-2023. The NSTP Office, headed by Mr. John Mark Boyonas, led the orientation last February 8, 2023, at the NBSC Covered Court.

The activity aimed to present the students with the purpose of school-based community service; update them with the new implementation and course learning outcomes (CLOs); and instill the values of volunteerism and camaraderie as future NSTP graduates. Additionally, officers from the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) were introduced.

Moreover, the NBSC Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, delivered the welcome address during the orientation. Dr. Delosa emphasized the importance of the NSTP program of the institution in making the students realize the value of one’s presence and providing them with meaningful experiences that will help them become better citizens.

Furthermore, the NSTP is a state-mandated program to train the students and citizens of the Philippines in pursuit of civic consciousness and defense preparedness. Therefore, the NSTP students of Northern Bukidnon State College are expected to lead by example and become volunteers and respectable future leaders of the nation.
