NBSC, IMO, CCS Hosts ICT Proficiency Certification Diagnostic Examination
Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – On August 30, 2024, the Northern Bukidnon State College Information Management Office (IMO), led by Benzar Glen S. Grepon, MIT, and the College of Computer Studies (CCS), headed by Ms. Shiela Mae M. Orozco, MIT, successfully hosted the ICT Proficiency Certification Diagnostic Examination. This significant event was organized in collaboration with the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB) of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The diagnostic examination assesses an individual’s proficiency in programming tasks and functions related to systems analysis and design. This initiative aligns with the objectives of PD 1408, which mandates the National Computer Center, now the DICT, in partnership with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), to develop methods for evaluating an individual’s suitability for advanced technical ICT roles. These assessments also form the basis for awarding the ICT Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Specialist Eligibility.
Present at the event, Alvin Nuska, DICT Project Development Officer I, the provincial focal person of Misamis Oriental, facilitated the examination, where a total of thirteen (13) examinees, comprising both IT students and professionals, showcased their skills and knowledge. This examination marks a crucial step in their journey toward achieving national recognition and eligibility for specialized ICT positions.
