LALANG: Binukid Dictionary and Translator Android Application
The Department of Languages and Literature at the College of Arts and Sciences of Central Mindanao University proudly hosted its inaugural Online International Conference on Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Cultural Management on September 25-26, 2024, via Zoom. This groundbreaking event is a vibrant offshoot of a CHED-funded initiative under the Philippine-Canada Education Consortium, designed to elevate indigenous voices and knowledge. Among the standout presentations, a team from Northern Bukidnon State College unveiled their pioneering research entitled, “LALANG: Binukid Dictionary and Translator Android Application.” Presented by Ms Marchilyn A. Abunda, with her co-authors, Ms. Marjorie Ann Bornales, Ms. Dyna Shine Tamboboy, Ms. Phoebe Ruth Alithea B. Sudaria, and Mr. Kenn Migan Vincent Gumonan, this research underscores the vital importance of preserving the Binukid dialect, ensuring that its rich cultural heritage is not only documented but also accessible for future generations.
