NBSC Cultivates Transformational Leaders through TLA Summit and Project Completion Ceremony
On February 5, 2025, Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) celebrated the successful culmination of its Transformational Leadership Academy (TLA) through the TLA Summit and Completion Ceremony held at the Don Arc White Beach Resort in Initao, Misamis Oriental. The program showcased innovative and impactful projects developed by TLA participants, all aimed at fostering institutional excellence and addressing key challenges within the College.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, underscores NBSC’s commitment to cultivating transformational leaders who can inspire change and innovation within the institution.
The ceremony opened with an inspiring message from NBSC President, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, who commended the participants for their dedication and creativity in crafting projects that address the College’s evolving needs. She emphasized the importance of leadership that is driven by vision, innovation, and compassion, encouraging the TLA graduates to continue making meaningful contributions to NBSC and the broader academic community.

1. Eco-Leadership in Education: Investigating Student Attitudes Towards Environmental Awareness and Sustainability

-Aimed at fostering student environmental consciousness and developing policies to promote sustainability within NBSC.
2.Project DRP: Dasig Ra sa Pagkab-ot

Project Leader: Helen E. Maasin, PhD
-Presented actionable steps to streamline procurement procedures, ensuring timely delivery of institutional needs.
Three guest speakers shared their journeys of leadership, leaving participants with powerful insights:
1. Dr. Manla on “Trusting the Process” – Encouraged perseverance and patience in overcoming challenges.
2. Dr. Cascon on “The Power of Letting Go” – Highlighted the importance of delegation and empowering others.
3.RD Alamban on “Humble Leadership” – Emphasized servant leadership as the foundation of effective leadership.
In her closing message, Dr. Helen E. Maasin, NBSC Vice President for Administration and Finance, introduced the concept of I-O-U (Intention, Outcome, Unity). She emphasized that transformational leaders must work with clear intentions, focus on achieving meaningful outcomes, and foster unity within their teams to drive institutional success.
