NBSC Strengthens Community Ties in Meaningful Outreach Program
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), through its Community Extension Services Division (CESD), conducted a heartfelt community outreach program at Sitio Nayawan, Santiago, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, on March 4, 2025. This initiative formally embraced the Sinontao Clan as NBSC’s adopted community, fostering stronger connections and meaningful engagement.
The outreach was made possible through generous in-kind donations from NBSC faculty and staff, demonstrating their commitment to uplifting the community. Forty families from the Sinontao Clan benefited from the goods, reinforcing the institution’s mission to extend support beyond the classroom.
In a warm display of hospitality, the Sinontao Clan welcomed the NBSC delegation, composed of select representatives, with cultural performances and a pamuhat—a traditional ritual conducted by the bai and datu—in honor of both their arrival and the birthday of College President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE.
Barangay Kagawad Hon. Floresa Sinontao expressed her deep gratitude to NBSC for the outreach program and its ongoing engagements with the community, highlighting Dr. Villanueva-Ganiera’s remarkable leadership.
“Talagsaon kaayo ni ang presidente sa NBSC nga dinhe nag-celebrate, kay murag na-surprise mi kay first time jud ni dire mahitabo sa among Barangay… Talagsaon kaayo ni nga kinaiya nga diha mag-celebrate sa IP community.” (This is truly remarkable—the president of NBSC is celebrating here! We were surprised because this was the first time something like this happened in our barangay. It is truly an exceptional trait to celebrate with the IP community.)
The event was further graced by Barangay Santiago Captain Hon. Jerville Senagonia, along with NBSC executives—Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, and Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Helen E. Maasin—who demonstrated full support for the initiative. This initiative was also made possible by Mr. Alven L. Gomez, the CESD Director, Mr. Julius Gabinete, the President of the NBSC Faculty Association, and the IBM (Institute of Business Management) Extension Coordinator.
This outreach program underscores NBSC’s unwavering commitment to community development, cultural appreciation, and inclusive leadership—values that continue to guide its mission of service and excellence.
