NBSC President Dr. Ganiera Joins National SUC Leaders in Shaping Unified Vision for Higher Education
Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, President of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), participated in the First SUCs Executive Forum 2025, hosted by Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU). The event, which brought together SUC presidents and key officials nationwide under the theme โ28 Strong Leaders Committed to One Vision, One Goalโ, was held at Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, from June 9 to 10, 2025.
CHED Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III, D. Eng, PCPE led the forum. He presided over the ceremonial signing of the commitment with SUC leaders and distinguished speakers. He also presented his officeโs strategic vision, INSPIRE: Initiate Educational Reforms, Nurture Learning Institutions, Support Academic Programs and Projects, Perform Office Mandate, Innovate the Learning Landscape, Respond to Knowledge Challenges, and Engage Globally in Academia.
Comm. Apag also introduced new digitization initiatives to expedite CHED document processing and improve data retrieval systems for SUCs. Key sessions covered the harmonization of SUC Board protocols, CHED policy updates, SUC leveling, and evaluation of LUDIPs (Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plans). A legal session by Assistant Solicitor General Justice James Lee Cundangan addressed real cases involving SUC officials, highlighting common governance pitfalls.
A special workshop on mental wellness, โFinding Your Center in the Middle of Chaos,โ led by Dr. Emmanuel F. Silan, emphasized the importance of resilience among education leaders.
Dr. Ganieraโs participation affirmed NBSCโs commitment to progressive leadership and collaboration in national education development. The forum closed with fellowship events that strengthened ties among SUC leaders, paving the way for continued cooperation.
