NBSC and USTP Partner to Transform Digital Processes
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) and the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) officially forged a partnership on June 13, 2025, through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). This collaboration marks a significant step for NBSC in modernizing its institutional processes by implementing a state-of-the-art enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to streamline administrative operations, specifically through an Integrated Management Information System (IMIS).
The MOA signing ceremony, held on the 3rd Floor of the SWDC Building, convened academic leaders and digital transformation experts. The partnership aims to support the adoption of the Government Integrated and Automated Management System (GIAMS ERP), a digital platform developed by USTP to modernize key administrative functions within government academic institutions. This system will serve as NBSC’s core IMIS.
NBSC President, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, emphasized the collegeโs dedication to innovation and future-ready systems in her welcome message.
“We have this dream of streamlining the processes, and now it has come to reality. We would now be fully utilizing GIAMS. Thank you so much, USTP,” she stated.
Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, President of USTP, also graced the event, joining the NBSC leadership in affirming the shared objective of advancing digital governance in higher education. In his address, he expressed gratitude to NBSC for adopting one of USTP’s innovative products.
“This agreement goes beyond formalities. It serves as our symbol of our shared commitment to digital transformation, innovation, and excellenceโnot only in public service but especially in education.”
The GIAMS ERP platform functions as a comprehensive IMIS, designed to integrate crucial functions, including performance and work management, financial systems, procurement and supply chain processes, property tracking, and human resource management.
The NBSC Information, Communication, and Technology Management Office (ICTMO) team, led by Mr. John Paul A. Labastida, also attended the program.
The event marks a significant milestone in NBSCโs journey toward institutional modernization. This partnership, facilitated by the efforts of the Research, Development, and Innovation Division (RDID), headed by Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, positions NBSC among the progressive State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines that are embracing digital solutions and a robust IMIS to deliver improved, faster, and more transparent services to their stakeholders.
