NBSC Joins 2025 Executive Development Summit
The International Affairs and External Linkages Office (lAELO) of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) actively participated in the 2025 Executive Development Summit on August 23, 2025, at Savoy Hotel Manila.
Representing NBSC was the IAELO Designate Head Maria Michaela Q. Jamora, who joined fellow delegates, including school administrators, sustainability officers, faculty, and students, as well as business leaders, executives, sustainability professionals, and CSR practitioners. Her participation reflects NBSC’s commitment to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policy-making, regulation, and implementation, along with advocacy groups and NGOs that actively advance sustainability initiatives from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
The summit featured a panel discussion on Advancing ESG in Education, Business, and Government, with key insights from Assistant Secretary (ASEC) Roger B. Masapol of the Department of Education, Atty. Lily Freida C. Macabangun-Milla, CESO III, Director IV of the International Affairs Service at the Commission on Higher Education, Rachel Esther Gumtang-Remalante, Director of the Corporate Governance and Finance Department at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and ASEC. Leonido J. Pulido III, Chief of Staff and Functional Group Head of the Organization and Systems Improvement Group at the Department of Budget and Management.
This was followed by a plenary discussion on Challenges and Opportunities in ESG Reporting Across Sectors, led by Atty. Roel A. Refran, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Sustainability at the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. In the afternoon, participants joined Breakout Workshops on Building ESG Integration and Reporting Roadmaps for the education, business, and government sectors. Among the facilitators was Dr. Engelbert C. Pasag, Vice President for Internationalization at Panpacific University. The day concluded with a plenary presentation on Sectoral ESG Integration and Reporting Roadmaps, emphasizing cross-sector collaboration and outlining practical steps toward advancing ESG integration.
Ultimately, the summit underscored that the pursuit of sustainability is not a solitary effort but a shared responsibility. Leaders were challenged not only to anticipate future ESG trends but also to act decisively in ensuring that policies evolve into meaningful programs. The discussions emphasized that progress will require both commitment and innovation, as well as a willingness to confront barriers with resilience and creativity.
The 2025 Executive Development Summit closed on a strong note: a reaffirmation of the collective mission to embed values of fairness, responsibility, and respect into the core of governance, business practices, and education systems. It was not only an exchange of ideas but also a call to action, reminding all participants that sustainability is a journey best undertaken together.
