NBSC RESEARCHERS SHOWCASE NORTHERN MINDANAO RESEARCH AT JAPAN’S 8TH ASIA FUTURE CONFERENCE
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) strengthened its international research presence as two of its personnel presented their studies at the 8th Asia Future Conference (AFC8 2026), held from August 25–29, 2026, at Tohoku Gakuin University, Itsutsubashi Campus, in Sendai, Japan.
Organized by the Atsumi International Foundation’s Sekiguchi Global Research Association (SGRA), the conference carried the theme “Space and Distance: Crossing, Closing, Creating.”
Representing NBSC were Mr. Benzar Glen S. Grepon, MIT, and Ms. Leah Mae S. Cuyno, MS, who presented research focusing on digital integration in higher education and systemic challenges in Northern Mindanao’s food value chain, respectively.
Mr. Grepon presented “School-IntegrIS: An Integrated System Approach to a School Management System of a State College in Northern Mindanao, Philippines,” while Ms. Cuyno presented “Systemic Constraints in Northern Mindanao’s Food Value Chain: A Multi-Stakeholder Perspective.”
Adding distinction to NBSC’s participation, Mr. Grepon was recognized as an AFC8 Scholar, while Ms. Cuyno was selected as one of only 10 Philippine recipients of the AFC8 International Special Subsidy.
Their presentations provided an avenue for NBSC research to reach an international audience, bringing perspectives from Northern Mindanao into dialogue with researchers and academic institutions from across Asia and beyond. Their participation likewise highlights the College’s growing contribution to international research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
