DSWD holds Culminating Cash-for-Work Program
October 17, 2024,Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon- 500 students and alumni of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) joined the celebration of 2024 KALAHI-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services) Cash-for-Work Culminating Program held at NBSC Covered Court. This event marked a celebration of a 90-day work immersion that began on June 30, 2024, where participants contributed their skills to various offices within the institution while receiving financial compensation through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and generosity of Senator Imee R. Marcos.
The gathering not only highlighted their hard work and dedication but also provided an opportunity to reflect on the valuable experiences gained during the program. With the disbursement of their final payouts, the recipients celebrated their achievements and the positive impact of their contributions to the NBSC.
The Testing, Admission Scholarship, and Admission Office at NBSC facilitated the event in partnership with DSWD. It served as a platform for alumni and current students to share their stories, exchange insights, and express gratitude for the opportunities the program provided.
One of the beneficiaries, who was assigned to the Office of Vice President for Administration and Finance, Glyde Anne Abriol, expressed her gratitude, highlighting how the program gave her practical work experience and deepened her understanding of the public service sector.
“The Cash-for-Work program of the DSWD Kalahi CIDSS has helped us students and graduates not just to gain work experience, but also to discover and develop skills that will surely be beneficial for future employment.”
The program concluded with resounding gratitude from the recipients and college administrators towards DSWD. They voiced their strong support for expanding programs that offer students and alumni essential work experience and financial support opportunities. They highlighted the importance of these initiatives in enhancing the college’s workforce and providing participants with crucial exposures for future employment opportunities.
