The new College of Computer Studies was inaugurated last May 2021; the square shape indicates the central processing unit (CPU) which is the brain of the computer. The 3 areas inside elaborates the technical specialized skills that the college aims to deliver to its students. The three major areas are: Programming, Multimedia, and Internet of Things.
For many years, the College of Computer Studies at Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) had been the cornerstone of ICT education, producing graduates who were technically skilled and academically prepared to enter the growing field of technology.
However, with the arrival of President CHRISTIE JEAN VILLANUEVA-GANIERA, EdD., CESE and her forward-looking leadership, a new vision began to unfold — one that recognized the rapidly changing demands of the digital world. It was no longer enough to focus solely on traditional computer-related disciplines. There was a need to expand, modernize, and redefine the identity of the institution’s technology program.
This vision led to a bold move: the transformation of the College of Computer Studies into the Institute for Computer Studies (ICS).
The change was more than just a name. It marked a reinvigoration of purpose — to provide a more integrated, innovative, and industry-responsive ICT education. The Institute is now focused not only on technical excellence but also on developing students who can communicate, lead, and adapt in an increasingly complex and connected world.
The Institute for Computer Studies aspires to be a hub of technological advancement and academic excellence, committed to shaping ICT professionals who are globally competitive, ethically grounded, and socially responsible.
Under the guidance of President Christe Jean, ICS stands as a testament to NBSC’s mission of shaping future-ready learners — individuals who are not just prepared for the present, but for the dynamic, digital future that lies ahead.
