NBSC-DGEC GEARS UP FOR A TRANSFORMATIVE ACADEMIC YEAR 2026-2027
Northern Bukidnon State College’s Department of General Education Curricula (NBSC-DGEC) conducted its two-day In-Service Training Workshop, “PAGMUGNA: DGEC PAGPANGANDAM,” from July 28 to 29, 2026, at Dream Residences, San Miguel, Manolo Fortich.
Anchored on DGEC’s core pillars of Diversity, Inclusivity, Integrity, Accountability, and Resiliency, the workshop served as a platform to strengthen collective direction and refine academic approaches for the upcoming school year. Central to this year’s activity was the transformative transition in leadership, marking a new chapter for DGEC as outgoing Head Niemfa Love W. Manginsay, MAGC, passed the mantle to incoming Head Genevieve Marie E. Bolanio, MAEd.
The first day focused on foundational planning, beginning with the introduction of faculty members with new designations. This was followed by comprehensive administrative and academic updates from Human Resources Management and Development Office (HRMDO) OIC-Head Noreen Faye M. Esta; Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Zandee Shellee Y. Ordinan, MA; Student Affairs, Services, and Development Division (SASDD) Director Rowena E. Bagongon, MA; and Research Coordinator John Mark Vhick E. Aguiman.
For Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID) matters, Ms. Bolanio formally handed over authority to Christine S. Tabaco, marking her official transition as the new DGEC CID-QA Coordinator. Faculty members then engaged in hands-on Course Learning Outcome (CLO) crafting to update existing frameworks, complemented by subject-cluster meetings that encouraged collaborative discussions and facilitated syllabus alignment.
Sustaining the momentum on the second day, the focus shifted toward operational transparency and strategic growth, beginning with the Department Financial Report presented by John Mark R. Liwat, MS, followed by community extension updates from Leah Mae S. Cuyno, MSc, and Reynan S. Salo, MAPsy.
Incoming Head Bolanio then presented DGEC’s direction for the first semester, leading to an interactive open forum that addressed faculty concerns while incorporating key updates from John Mark L. Boyonas, MAEng, of the Campus Safety Management Office (CSMO); Jo Augustine G. Corpuz, RGC, of the Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO); Grace P. Quiblat of the Sports Development Office; and Director Bagongon of SASDD.
The two-day activity concluded with an empowering call to action from Dr. Edilyn A. Culajara, inspiring the DGEC faculty to enter Academic Year 2026-2027 with a shared purpose and renewed commitment to advancing educational goals.
The workshop’s outcomes extend beyond DGEC as they contribute to NBSC’s continuing efforts to strengthen its academic foundation. With clearer directions, improved coordination, and renewed faculty engagement, the College is better positioned to respond to the evolving needs of its learners while sustaining an environment that values innovation, adaptability, and quality education.
