NBSC, DLSU PROPEL INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH THROUGH COLLABORATIVE WRITING BOOTCAMP
To accelerate the transformation of local institutional studies into high-impact, publishable scholarship, Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) faculty and staff underwent an intensive writing bootcamp on May 19-20, 2026. The two-day event, themed “From Project Report to a Publishable Journal Article,” was held at Dreams Golftel by Dreams Residences in San Miguel, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The bootcamp was primarily facilitated by NBSC’s Research Development and Innovation Division (RDID), spearheaded by its Director, Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa. This intensive session marks the continued expansion of the collaborative partnership between NBSC and the De La Salle University (DLSU) Social Development Research Center (SDRC), which officially began last year following a Memorandum of Agreement signed in June 2025.
Serving as expert mentors and facilitators from DLSU were Dr. Marites M. Tiongco, Dr. Zaldy C. Collado, Ms. Maria Margareth Geluz, and Ms. Lyndia E. Navarro.
NBSC Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF) John Kevin A. Artuz opened the training with a welcome message, highlighting scholarly publishing as essential to the College’s institutional growth and academic advancement.
Under the direct guidance of Dr. Tiongco and Dr. Collado, participants engaged in targeted lectures and hands-on clinical coaching. The sessions systematically guided researchers through journal selection strategies, manuscript structural alignment, and real-time expert reviews of their active qualitative and quantitative drafts. The bootcamp concluded with participants successfully submitting their polished manuscripts to their preferred journals.
By bridging the gap between terminal project reports and international publication standards, this collaborative milestone drastically enhances NBSC’s internal capacity for scholarly output, rigorous inquiry, and creative discovery. Cultivating these advanced writing competencies ensures that unique local knowledge and institutional findings are effectively disseminated to the global scientific community, securing the College’s trajectory as a premier hub for transformative academic contribution and regional progress.
