NBSC Faculty Member Completes 40-Hour Basic Training for Pollution Control Officers
Mr. Melven I. Valmoria, MSc, a faculty member of the Department of General Education Curricula (DGEC) at Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), successfully completed the 40-hour Basic Training for Pollution Control Officers held on June 23โ27, 2025, at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
The training, duly recognized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources โ Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), equipped participants with essential knowledge and competencies on pollution prevention and control, environmental laws and regulations, compliance reporting, and best practices in solid waste, air, and water quality management.
Organized by the Guardians of the Earth Association, Inc., a DENR-accredited training institution, the activity gathered aspiring and current PCOs from various institutions and industries in Northern Mindanao. It served as a platform for learning, exchange of experiences, and building networks among professionals committed to environmental protection and sustainability.
Mr. Valmoriaโs participation aligns with NBSCโs ongoing initiatives to strengthen its environmental compliance and promote greener and more sustainable campus operations. His attendance in the training also supports NBSCโs goal of developing a more environmentally conscious academic community, consistent with national development goals and the Sustainable Development Agenda.
