NBSC Holds 13th Commencement Exercises with the theme “Post-Pandemic Graduate: Resilient, Flexible, Dynamic”
Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – A total of three hundred sixty-two (362) graduates proudly received their hard-earned diplomas on August 4, 2022, during the 13th Commencement Exercises of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), held at the Manolo Fortich Municipal Gymnasium. The ceremony was themed “Post-Pandemic Graduate: Resilient, Flexible, Dynamic.”
Esteemed guests graced the graduation ceremony, including Hon. Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, Board Member Eliezer “Larry” Onahon, and Mr. Patrick Ian F. Pedarse, Administrative and Finance Chief of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office 10, representative of Dir. Carlene C. Collado, CPA. The CHED Commissioner, Hon. Jo Mark M. Libre also joined the event through the virtual platform.
The Class Valedictorian, Judy Grace E. Cuerquis, Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in English, Cum Laude, led the NBSC graduating class of 2023. During her address, she shared her academic journey’s experiences, focusing on the challenges encountered in pursuing education within the unprecedented new normal.
Cuerquis also expressed her confidence in enriching her mind, body, and soul through the guidance of NBSC, “I am confident that I can become the best version of an educator as a product of Northern Bukidnon State College in creating futures, transforming lives, guided by God.”
The distinguished guest speaker, Hon. Jose Manuel F. Alba, Representative of the 1st District of Bukidnon, delivered an empowering message. Hon. Alba urged the graduates to embrace challenges with open minds and compassionate hearts. He further reminded them that resilience, flexibility, and dynamism are the pillars that uphold success. As an advocate of financial literacy, Hon. Alba concluded his message with words of encouragement, urging the graduates to always find a way to save money.
Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden, the College President, delivered a parting message to the graduating class of 2023, sharing the wisdom she has gained over the years. She encouraged them to celebrate their graduation with gratefulness. Alongside expressing gratitude to their parents, relatives, and loved ones, she highlighted the unceasing support provided by national and local government units, which should be equally appreciated.
Furthermore, Dr. Almaden emphasized the importance of embracing a life centered around selflessness and service. She also urged the graduates to live by the NBSC motto of “creating futures, transforming lives, guided by God” as their guiding principle. In addition to her impactful message, Dr. Almaden led the benediction for the graduating class.
Amidst this celebration of accomplishments, the Northern Bukidnon State College also takes pride in the meritorious achievement of Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, who has been named one of the Metrobank Foundation’s Outstanding Filipinos for 2023.
As the graduates embark on their journey beyond academia, NBSC will remain dedicated to providing them with unwavering support. The College is proud to have played a role in shaping individuals who are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the essential qualities to thrive in this ever-changing world.
