NBSC Holds Faculty Semestral Assembly to Strengthen Thoughtful Communication in the Academe
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) gathered its faculty members on August 8, 2025, for the Fireside Chat: Faculty Semestral Assembly under the theme “Clear Minds, Kind Words: Fostering Thoughtful Communication in the Academe” at the Library Complex. The event aimed to promote constructive dialogue, collaboration, and professional growth among faculty and administrative staff under the academic cluster.
The first plenary talk was delivered by NBSC SUC President I, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, who inspired faculty members with her vision for the institution’s sustained growth. She also shared updates on approved and ongoing policies, including: A ₱7,000 medical allowance managed by the faculty and non-teaching association, installation of a canopy for the canteen, improvements to the Library Complex, establishment of an Innovation Hub, construction of a perimeter fence and entrance gate (currently under procurement), and enhancement of the gym or covered court.
Dr. Ganiera emphasized her openness to faculty concerns, engaging in an interactive discussion and offering practical solutions to issues raised.
The morning session also featured Mr. Benzar Glen S. Grepon, Supervising Administrative Officer and OIC CAO, who introduced the administrative offices and their services under his supervision. Ms. Marie Angelie Hagutin, representing Rabbie B. Adaptar-Teologo, RPM, Head of the Human Resource and Development Office, discussed HR mechanisms, policies, and assigned staff per process.
In the afternoon, Atty. Jag Iesu Iñigo G. Murillo, CPA, REB, Attorney IV of the Legal Office, provided a legal briefing. This was followed by Dr. Mary Cris J. Go, Director of the Curriculum and Instruction Division, who spoke on the various responsibilities and requirements of the faculty in connection with curriculum and instruction.
An open Q&A session allowed faculty members to engage directly with NBSC leaders, clarifying policies and offering suggestions for institutional improvement.
This initiative was conducted through the efforts of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, who was beyond grateful for the support and presence of the SUC President, Dr. Ganiera. The event not only served as a platform for information exchange but also reaffirmed NBSC’s commitment to fostering a respectful, collaborative, and forward-looking academic community.
