NBSC Hosts Capacity-Building Writeshop to Strengthen Educators as Trainers of Trainers
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) launched its Capacity-Building Writeshop for Training of Trainers (TOT) on Institutional Research Projects on August 28, 2025, at Eliana Farm Resort & Villas, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. The two-day event brings together educators and researchers from various institutions to strengthen their skills in advancing quality higher education.
The event opened with a keynote session by Ms. Charry Mae C. Grepon, TOT/TLA focal person, who laid the foundation with an insightful discussion on the pivotal role of Training of Trainers in shaping the future of educational institutions. She underscored that continual professional development is not just beneficial but essential in ensuring quality education and equipping educators with the skills to adapt to the evolving demands of higher learning.
Adding a global perspective, Mr. Franco Ceasar M. Agbalog shared his learnings from the Bangkok 2025: International Conference on Assessing Quality in Higher Education, held at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand, on June 22–25, 2025. He highlighted the universal challenges faced by both large and small institutions, emphasizing that participation in international forums provides invaluable opportunities to exchange ideas, address common hurdles, and broaden perspectives that inspire meaningful reforms.
Equally inspiring was the testimony of Ms. Chris J. Go, who drew from her personal journey in the field of Training of Trainers. She reminded participants of the transformative power of small, consistent steps in achieving monumental change. Her message resonated deeply with attendees, motivating them to take bold yet practical actions that can shape both personal growth and institutional progress.
The first day concluded with presentations from the event’s proponents, who shared their progress reports, highlighting the advancements they have made in their respective research projects. Their work underscores the commitment to quality research and its essential role in the growth of the academic community.
The initiative is strongly supported by NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, and Research, Development, and Innovation Division Director Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, underscoring the college’s commitment to advancing research, innovation, and capacity-building in higher education.
As the writeshop continues on August 29, participants are expected to gain hands-on experience, sharpen research methodologies, and collaborate on strategies that will foster institutional growth and academic excellence.
Ultimately, the writeshop reflects NBSC’s mission to empower educators, researchers, and academic leaders with the tools to drive sustainable transformation and contribute to the continuous improvement of higher education in the Philippines and beyond.
