NBSC ITE–BECED CONDUCTS PHASE 3 SUL₂IP NEEDS ASSESSMENT IN CDCS OF MANOLO FORTICH
The Institute for Teacher Education Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ITE–BECEd) of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) successfully conducted a Phase 3 research-extension project needs assessment under SuL₂IP (Sustainable Learning and Linkage to Isolated Places) on January 13, 2026. The activity covered seven (7) Child Development Centers (CDCs) located in Barangay Minsuro (1 CDC), Barangay Lunocan (4 CDCs), and Barangay Mantibugao (2 CDCs) in Manolo Fortich, focusing on identifying the needs of CDC workers and teachers to enhance early childhood education in geographically isolated communities.
The needs assessment was conducted by the project team composed of Ms. Noraisah U. Radaza, MA, Project Leader and ITE Research Coordinator; Mr. Dave G. Laga, MA, Component Leader; Ms. Mary Ann Charmaine O. Tapulayan-Dumana, MA, Core Member Implementer; Ms. Helen B. Ajon, MA, Core Member Implementer; and Dr. Mary Cris J. Go, Core Member Implementer, together with two (2) representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), namely Ms. Catherine U. Palomar, ECCD Focal Person, and Ms. Ella Mae Campugan.
Through active engagement with CDC workers and teachers, the team gathered essential data on instructional resources, professional development needs, learning environments, and community support systems. The findings will serve as a basis for designing responsive interventions and capacity-building activities under the SuL₂IP project, ensuring that future extension initiatives are aligned with the actual needs of partner communities and contribute to sustainable learning outcomes.
The activity was conducted with the support of the administration and the Community Extension Services Division (CESD), under the guidance of Mr. Alven L. Gomez, MS EST, Director, and Dr. Christine C. Royo, ITE Program Head. The project team extends its sincere gratitude to College President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, for her continued encouragement and institutional support, and likewise acknowledges the guidance of Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Benzar Glen S. Grepon, MIT, Supervising Administrative Officer, whose leadership strengthened the implementation and outreach efforts of the initiative.
Through SuL₂IP, ITE–BECEd reaffirms its commitment to advancing inclusive, sustainable, and community responsive education by building meaningful linkages and delivering relevant support to isolated learning communities. These efforts further contribute to NBSC’s ongoing growth as an institution that promotes practical engagement, strengthens community partnerships, and advances educational initiatives with lasting local impact.
