NBSC Joins CHED Roll-Out of Unified College Admission Form in General Santos
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) took part in the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) regional roll-out of the Unified College Admission Form (UCAF), held on May 8–9, 2025, at Greenleaf Hotel in General Santos City.
Representing NBSC were Franco Ceasar M. Agbalog, Head of (Appraisal, Testing, and Admission Office/Student Accounts, Scholarship Aides, and Financial Assistance Office (ATAO/SASAFAO), and Mr. Paul Labastida, ISA II, who engaged in the two-day orientation and simulation designed to introduce a standardized digital college admission system for public higher education institutions.
Mx. Agbalog and Mr. Labastida participated in the Open Forum, system walkthrough, and simulation sessions covering administrative and student user interfaces. They noted that the UCAF platform demonstrated strong potential for streamlining the admissions process, citing its user-friendly design and functional features.
The event featured key presentations from CHED officials and academic leaders and a collaborative forum that addressed stakeholder questions and gathered feedback. Mx. Agbalog emphasized the importance of further refining the system for accessibility, especially for students from the rural uplands. At the same time, Mr. Labastida called for localized training sessions to prepare institutions for full implementation.
