NBSC launches New Learning Management System
In its quest of having quality education, Northern Bukidnon State College welcomed its new Learning Management System through a virtual orientation in partnership with Teaching, Learning, and Knowledge Management Office, Information Management Office, and ILogix Philippines Incorporation last February 7, 2024.
Esteemed department heads and instructors of the Teacher Education Program, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology participated in the aforementioned orientation.
This initiative is made possible through the approved 6-million Smart Campus Project of NBSC through the leadership of the College President, Catherine Roween C. Almaden, PhD and Information Management Office Director, Benzar Glen S. Grepon, MIT to support the college’s operation regarding its ICT needs and services, establishing network infrastructure and smart campus plans
The IMO Director highlighted the wider accessibility and functionality of the LMS compared to external platforms. He mentioned, “It is beneficial for everyone to be on board and experience its advantages. Unlike the other platforms, it directly calculates grades. You have a test bank for creating your exams, better control over deadlines, and the ability to view and comment on outputs directly. There are many benefits, and I hope all teachers, part-time and full-time, will join. At least all our dealings can be electronic, reducing reliance on paper.”
The faculty of NBSC who have undergone the orientation had the chance to see the features of the future LMS and how to navigate through the system—giving them ideas on how to manage their lessons using the system.
Jan Soriano, Instructor I of the General Education Curriculum, acknowledges the benefit of having the new LMS when it comes to the centralization of all the teaching and learning of the students he stated,“When it comes to those kinds of LMS, actually, I am already exposed to those kinds of systems in my previous workplace and I am always open to the possibility of using the new LMS.”
Education is truly dynamic and embracing new learning innovation of NBSC propels its quest for the attainment of quality education.
