NBSC PRESIDENT JOINED CHED’S 32ND FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP CONVERGENCE
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) joined higher education leaders, policymakers, and development partners from across the country during the Strategic Partnership Convergence held in celebration of the 32nd Founding Anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on June 10, 2026, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City. With the theme “ACHIEVE-ing Knowledge Economy for a Future-Ready Bagong Pilipinas,” the event highlighted CHED’s more than three decades of commitment to advancing Philippine tertiary education through innovation, collaboration, and quality assurance.
One of the highlights of the gathering was the State of the Higher Education Address delivered by CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, who presented the Commission’s accomplishments, strategic priorities, and future directions in building a responsive, inclusive, and globally competitive academic landscape.
Another significant milestone during the event was the ceremonial signing of the guidelines on the release of Free Higher Education deficiency funds for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs). This initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to ensuring sustained access to quality, equitable, and inclusive tertiary education for Filipino students nationwide.
Representing NBSC, College President Christie Jean Villaniera-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, signified through her presence the institution’s commitment to strategic partnerships, collaborative leadership, and excellence in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in the academe. Her presence likewise reflected alignment with CHED’s vision of a knowledge-driven economy through quality instruction, impactful research, responsive extension services, and effective governance.
NBSC’s engagement in the national convergence contributes to ongoing discussions shaping the direction of the country’s academic sector. It also strengthens collaboration with key stakeholders in advancing sector-wide initiatives and priorities.
