NBSC RESEARCH ON INDIGENOUS AND PEACE EDUCATION FEATURED AT INTERNATIONAL SANROKAN FESTIVAL 2026
Research excellence and cultural advocacy took center stage as Dr. Edilyn A. Culajara, an instructor at Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), represented the institution at the 2026 International Sanrokan Festival held from March 13–15 at Romblon State University in Odiongan, Romblon. The event gathered scholars and experts to explore the theme “Diversity of Cultural Expression through Inclusive Governance and Education.”
Dr. Culajara presented her research paper, “Evaluating the Integration of Indigenous Communities and Peace Studies in Selected College Curricula in Northern Mindanao,” which addresses gaps in existing academic frameworks and advocates for more inclusive approaches to peace education and indigenous representation in higher education.
The experience proved valuable, as Dr. Culajara shared that engaging with fellow researchers significantly bolstered her confidence and provided a platform for gaining constructive feedback. She highlighted that listening to respected speakers further deepened her appreciation for the role of academic inquiry in education and nation-building.
This international engagement serves as a significant milestone in the college’s mission to produce impactful scholarly work. By championing faculty participation in global forums, the institution reinforces its commitment to generating evidence-based knowledge that addresses societal issues and elevates the quality of education and cultural preservation in Northern Mindanao.
